Anant Dot Com by Dr. Govind Sharma IAS is fast paced, very short entertaining read. It can be read within two to three hours even with a low reading speed. The author has deliberately kept this book as short as possible as it has the potential of being a longer book which would be enjoyed by those who love reading detailed descriptions and depth in writing.

The plot of the book revolves around the life of few college friends, their life afterwards and how people transform over time told from the perspective of Mohan as the narrator. The book attempts to share the knowledge and teachings from Ramcharitmanas which I enjoyed but personally felt these more as a distraction. There are a number of characters but they do not create any confusion to the reader but author could have developed them further making this book more detailed and interesting.

The book has an interesting storyline but it seems rushed, impacting the overall reading experience. I would have enjoyed more if I knew the characters and their past. Considering this as the author’s debut work I would definitely read his next work hoping it would be livelier.
